Drivers and operators urged to keep on top of Driver CPC training via online service

Posted on 11th June 2012 By Charlotte Haye

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has reminded drivers that they can check that their Driver CPC periodic training has been recorded by accessing their online training record.

The DSA service allows drivers to see how many hours of training they’ve done; see which courses they’ve attended; and create a temporary password for their employer or potential employer to view their training record.

The last point is of particular interest after DSA confirmed recently that both drivers and their employers would each face a £1,000 fine if an employee is caught behind the wheel without a Driver Qualification Card.

A recent report by Skills for Logistics suggests nearly two-thirds of LGV drivers have yet to do any training to meet the 2014 deadline for mandatory Driver CPC accreditation.
