The Training Process – How It Works

We’ve structured this 4 Day course to deliver real skills, real confidence, and real results.

Step 1: Eligibility Check

To take this course, you’ll need a valid Category C licence and a completed Driver CPC (if applicable).

Step 2: Vehicle Familiarisation

You’ll get comfortable operating a full-length articulated lorry, learning:

  • Coupling & uncoupling trailers
  • Advanced manoeuvring techniques
  • Mirror work, lane discipline & cornering with trailers

Step 3: Practical Training (4 Days)

Spread over multiple days, you’ll train with DVSA-qualified instructors on:

  • Rural & urban route driving
  • Controlled reversing
  • Use of tachographs & walkaround checks
  • Test route mock drives

Step 4: DVSA Practical Test

Once ready, you’ll take the official Category C+E driving test, including:

  • Show Me / Tell Me questions
  • Reversing exercise
  • Controlled stop
  • On-road driving assessment

Pass it, and you’ll walk away with your full Category C+E licence.
