Some of the most influential figures in the UK road transport industry will come together in November to review key challenges facing truck operators as they battle to deliver Britain’s economic recovery.

The first Commercial Vehicle Forum, an initiative of the CV Show Partnership, will be held at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Westminster, London on 15 November. This new event will enable ‘movers and shakers’ in road transport to debate the key issues facing the business in front of an invited audience which will include politicians, civil servants, media and opinion formers.

The theme of the event is: Innovation in the UK Road Transport Industry and more specifically, Future Sustainability and Skills and Safety. Already confirmed to participate in the event are: Ray Ashworth, Managing Director of DAF Trucks; Andy Boyle, Managing Director of ABE Ledbury; Des Evans, Chief Executive of MAN UK; Rob Flello, MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Freight Group, and Prof Dame Julia King, Vice-Chancellor of Aston University. Broadcaster and financial journalist Simon Jack will Chair the event.

The high profile speakers will explore the progress the road transport industry is making in innovating for further efficiencies in the movement of goods while addressing safety concerns associated with ever denser traffic conditions and the mix of road users.

Further information about the event and additional speakers will be made available soon.
