Learning anything strongly relies on the person training you and the confidence they instil in you to succeed and easily make the transition from learner to professional. This couldn’t be truer than it is when taking on HGV training London with the eye to gaining a new, better career. By choosing Surrey and Hampshire HGV Training you will be placing yourself in the driving seat and in the hands of our dedicated team of instructors, who will do everything in their power to make gaining your licence an understandable and rewarding process.
Everyone remembers when they were learning to drive for the first time and we all have contrasting stories about our instructors. Some of us might have failed first time and blamed it on the teaching methods of the particular instructor, while others will go through life praising how well their instructor taught them and made sitting behind the wheel a breeze. With our team of friendly and experienced training professionals who are dedicated to your success, you will most definitely fall into the second category as you hold that licence and send off your first applications.
Each instructor will take each phase of your training programme step by step and at your own pace to ensure that you are becoming a safe and competent HGV driver. The refreshing thing about our service here at Surrey and Hampshire HGV Training is also that we do not stick to a single, rigid training plan and offer training for Category C HGV Drivers, Category C+E/Artic Drivers and even LGV Training if you are hoping to gain your LGV licence Hampshire as you have your eye on a used truck.
Whichever training you are looking for, our dedicated trainers can get you through your HGV training London in a matter of days and make it an enjoyable process instead of a daunting one. Make sure to contact 01276 537 400 today to get started.

THERE was evening rushhour traffic chaos in Newport yesterday, partly caused by people flocking to see a Christmas Coca-Cola truck at a supermarket car-park.
Hundreds of people queued on Tesco’s Harlech Retail Park site, some for more than an hour, to have their picture taken with the replica illuminated lorry used on the drink’s television advert.
Store spokeswoman Rhian Jones said it stopped in Newport as part of a UK tour.
The store had sectioned off the car park for the event between 4pm and 8pm. There was also a fake snowmachine.
Ms Jones said: “People started turning up at around 3pm.
“We weren’t expecting such a huge turnout and I think we will have had nearly 1,000 people here.”
Royal Gwent midwife Lisa Hammett, 35, who was with her family, said it took her 40 minutes just to get from the hospital to Tesco at 5pm.
Some drivers ended up abandoning their cars and walking to the store.
Motorway drivers also faced delays on the M4 eastbound, following an earlier accident at junction 23A when a lorry and a car collided at 1.53pm.
No-one was injured.
Traffic officers were also called to the slip road of junction 26 on the same side, to recover a vehicle at 5.13pm.

“A Hauliers life is certainly varied, with no two days rarely if ever being the same,” writes Mike. “Monday 31st October 2011 being just one of many examples, with Mike A. Ponsonby despatched to the island of Anglesey off the Nth Wales Coast to uplift a Liebherr 566 Hydraulic Loader from a local quarry, then deliver it to Wigan, Lancashire.
“The Liebherr 566 has an unladen weight of 22.5 tonnes and was thus easy work for Driver Lee Worsey esq and his impressive Scania R.580 truck. Both truck and trailer # 109 are depicted in Motorway Service Area in Nth Wales on Monday 31st October 2011″

Whilst flicking through the jobs pages within your local paper, it’s likely that you’ll come across a range of HGV driving jobs. Previously this may have been something which hasn’t appealed to you, but after a few years within the same industry, you may be looking for a career change and becoming a HGV driver could be the next challenge you crave. If this is the case for you, then why not enrol in the HGV driver training London offered by us here at Surrey and Hampshire HGV Training?
As experienced HGV drivers ourselves, our team of instructors are in the best seat to teach you the skills required to safely and securely manoeuvre a HGV vehicle along the motorways, A-roads and side streets of the UK and further afield.
The level of training you’ll require will depend firstly on your driving experience and what your current driving licence permits; but all our courses are tailored to suit your needs and requirements, giving you the best chance to pass your test first time round – with the help of our fully qualified team.
LGV Licence – We offer a 4,5 or 6 day driving course which will teach you everything you require to obtain your LGV licence, allowing you to progress onto our Category C+E course.
Category C+E course – As with the LGV licence this is offered in 4,5 or 6 days courses, which again will provide you with everything you require to gain your HGV licence and begin your new career within the haulage industry.
The price you pay will depend on the course that you opt to enrol in; however as a rough guide for those wishing to only take the Category C course, you can expect to pay as little as £899; whilst for those looking to take the Category C+E course, fees start at £999. All our course prices come inclusive of VAT and the fee you pay is small compared to the potential amount you could be earning as a hauler.
Once you’ve successfully undertaken your HGV driver training London through us here at Surrey and Hampshire HGV Training, the job opportunities which open up are endless. With a large variety of trucks for sale there’s no reason why you can’t begin your career as a hauler sooner rather than later, so why not give us a call and book your training today?

A Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) driver is a highly skilled job position, and is paid accordingly. If you are wishing to further your career as a HGV driver, whether you just need to refresh your current driving skills or you are a complete novice – the team at Surrey & Hampshire HGV Training can help. We provide a complete HGV Driver Training London package to suit every level of learning, meaning you are given a training package tailored to meet your individual needs.
Our training instructors offer a supportive and constructive learning environment. We appreciate that hands on experience is crucial to the success of our students passing their tests. We therefore provide facilities to carry out important manoeuvres which would be extremely difficult to be carried out anywhere else. With our reversing area, you will be able to practice reversing manoeuvres in a safe and pressure free environment, preparing you for your test and eventual job.
Firstly, you will need to get a D1 form either from us at Surrey & Hampshire HGV Training, or from your local Post Office. Once you have procured this form, you need to contact your local GP and undergo a full medical. This is very important, as any health problems which could affect your ability to drive safely will result in you HGV application becoming invalid.
You then need to apply for your provisional. This will take up to two weeks, so apply in plenty of time to make sure that the whole process runs smoothly. You will also have had to have passed your theory. You will not be able to undergo any training without your provisional license or theory test.
If you want to progress as a HGV Driver then contact Surrey & Hampshire HGV training today. We offer local HGV driver training London, which is supported through our invaluable professional guidance and extensive facilities. Phone us today on 01276 537 400 for more information regarding our services and your HGV driver training application.

Being a HGV trainer can be a rewarding job, especially when you see your willing student walk out of the test centre, with a broad smile after they’ve successfully gained their full HGV licence. Passing a HGV test, as you’ll be aware as a trainer, can open up a number of opportunities. However before you can consider providing HGV training London it’s important to ensure that you have the relevant level of insurance with which to train someone safely and legally.
Having experience alone won’t help you train someone to gain a HGV licence, instead to take to the road you’ll be required to have the correct level of instructor insurance. Since the start of 2011 there’s been an introduction of heavier penalties for those that are caught driving without insurance – and as a HGV trainer, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have the relevant level of insurance; after all it’s not only your livelihood which could depend on it.
Unfortunately, many personal insurance policies won’t cover you to train someone else to drive a HGV vehicle; however it is possible to get insurance – either for use on one HGV vehicle or a fleet of HGVs. As with car insurance, insurance for HGVs can be tailored to cover against all common issues which can arise, such as fire, theft – of either the vehicle, contents or both, and accidents.
HGV instructor insurance will also include liability insurance, which will provide a level of liability cover should an accident occur which causes damage to another property or vehicle, or injury to someone else.
Here at Surrey and Hampshire Training, all of our trainers have the right level of insurance and also years of experience within the HGV industry, enabling us to provide you with a fantastic level of both LGV and HGV training London. So if you would like to open new doors and take a different career path in the driving industry, why not enrol on one of our courses today.
